What are the three stages of eyelash growth?
- Anagen (Growth Phase): This is the active growth phase where the eyelash is actively growing. (30-45 days)
- Catagen (Transition Phase): In this phase, the eyelash stops growing, and the hair follicle starts to shrink. (2-3 weeks)
- Telogen (Resting Phase): The eyelash is at rest, and the follicle is preparing for the next growth cycle. (90-120 days)
How does SpringLash eyelash enhancement serum work?
It works by allowing the growth phase (anagen stage) of the eyelash follicle to be extended so that increases in lash length can be attained. It also conditions and strengthens the eyelashes so they are less prone to breakage and shrinkage during the transition phase (catagen stage) and the resting phase (telogen stage). And finally, it can help shorten the resting phase (telogen stage) so that the growth phase (anagen stage) can occur again sooner.
Do all eyelashes experience the same lifecycle stage at the same time?
No, all eyelashes are not always in the same phase. About 35-40% of upper lashes and 15% of lower lashes are usually in the anagen (growth) phase at one time. During this phase, the average rate of growth is 0.12 to 0.14 mm per day.
Approximately 3% of your lashes will be in the catagen (transition) phase at any one time.
And approximately 40% of upper lashes and 15% of lower lashes are in the telogen (resting) phase at any one time.
